In the afternoon of Jan. 24 of 2016, the first monthly Chinese Focus divine service was held by Ap. Sobottka in Waterloo church. The Bible text : “1 Corinthians 16:9 For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.” The service was in English and translated by Ev. Truong, as well as, Pr. Zhu was called to assist the service. 

　

During the divine service, brother Wang was ordained by Ap. Sobottka as a Deacon. In addition, Ap. Sobottka made an announcement that upon Sh. Chen’s request, Ap. Sobottka has retired him on Sunday, Jan. 17, 2016.  Sh. Chen has been a pioneer of Lord’s work among Chinese in New Apostle church since he came to Canada. He was ordained as a Shepherd about 10 years ago. Since then, Sh. Chen has been a champion of Lord’s work for Chinese over Canada. All of us have expressed their thankfulness and appreciation to his contribution and dedication to Lord’s work. 

　

There were 38 people with 7 ministers and 6 guests in this service, which was followed with lunch fellowship and then Bible study.
